I can think of a couple of post-worthy instances that happened this weekend, but I don’t feel 100% comfortable about posting one of them in case it comes back to bite me (I’d also feel like I was telling tales out of school), so I’ll just post about one of them for now. I was at a service station today, & I was near the toilets. What’s wrong with that, I hear you cry? Well, how about the fact that the ladies toilets were indicated by a pin-personesque figure wearing a skirt with a bow in their hair, with a pink & flowery background, while the gents toilets was indicated by a similar figure not wearing a skirt, but with a green background. Also, in the shop, they had a variety of what I think were money boxes, & these were gendered in that there was once again a definite theme of ‘pink for the girls, blue for the boys’. Why do people still persist in gendering things? I know I’ve posted on this subject before, but it does annoy me!
