A little thing

I had a meeting with my boss (male, early 60’s, medical consultant), during which I presented my latest research work for our project. As I left he said ‘Well done, good girl’. I am a woman in my mid 40’s. On this occasion, I had the confidence to point this out to him, at which, he became a bit embarrassed and blustered and said it was just a term and that he said ‘Good Chap’ to men. However, he’s not called my a ‘good girl’ since, although he does still say ‘well done’, which is great!

I am pleased that I raised this with him in the way that I did.
