peeping tom

The other day I was going for a swim so I left my phone at home. It was 9pm so not very late and as I was walking down a residential street a man was dressed fully in black, a black hoodie and long black pants, which stuck out in the summer heat. He was masturbating and exposing himself. I walked over to the other side of the street and hurried towards a group of people smoking at the end of the block to ask them to call the police. I have regularly seen men masturbating in public in central Stockholm every since I was a child and it is traumatic, threatening and horrible. I was lucky I wasn’t attacked, this man was clearly a sexual predator. He was looking in the windows of the apartments while masturbating and seemed like he was stalking the street for a victim but was spooked when I had such a strong reaction and stared intently at him. When he saw me approach the group he calmly walked down the street as if it was just a normal day like any other.

I get out of the passenger side at a petrol station. I’m wearing a mid-thigh length skirt. A man on the driver’s side of a van parallel to my car calls out the window: “excuse me, something just fell under your car”. I crouch down to look briefly and don’t see anything. “It’s right up behind the front wheel” he says, clearly wanting me to lean right in under to look so I revealed my underwear. I told him I didn’t see anything. There was nothing there when I checked from the other side of the car either. I find him staring at me when I look back whilst filling up the car. Disgusting behaviour from a man at least twice my age.

My married-with-kids neighbor, who I thought I had a mildly positive, completely neighborly relationship with and whose children I’ve played with, tried to kiss me and told me about how he’d seen me naked. And how great my breasts are and that I’m sexy. He’d apparently been spying on me through the window in my master bathroom, which I didn’t think anyone could see into due to the angle of the houses. He also told me I shouldn’t be offended/embarrassed because this kind of thing “just happens in society.” But don’t tell my live-in boyfriend because he doesn’t want to be beaten up but it’s normal. And don’t be offended.
