Was sat in traffic with the window down and my car radio on, when this man in a white ran, at about 35 years old, facing the other direction starting looking me up and down. I looked away and pretending to be looking at something in my mirror to discourage him when he said “traffics bad isn’t it? So, you from round here?” I pretended I couldn’t hear him and he just shouted the same louder. I replied telling him I was 18 and had a boyfriend (even though I don’t). He started shouting something just as my lights turned green just luckily got to drive away. I was continually looking over my shoulder whilst doing my shopping, (even though it sounds stupid) as I was scared he might have followed me.

The first time that I was catcalled I was 12 years old. I remember I was walking home at about 5pm but it was winter and was getting dark. Some man rolled down his car window and proceeded to ask me to show him my tits. My 12 year old self was horrified and when I arrived home I told my dad what happened he then replied with. “What were you wearing?” At the time it was a coat zipped up and a pair of jeans. But what difference does it make if I was walking around in a bikini or a tracksuit it still dosen’t give anyone right to comment on my body. And may I repeat 12 year old body. I was also told that it was ok because I looked older than I was still should it matter if i was 12 or 31. I get catcalled everyday and only now I’m realising that it’s not ok and that I shouldn’t “take it as a compliment”

Coming back from a short walk at lunch, on a residential street, car pulls over, driver says excuse me, so I assume he wants directions and he asks “is there any chance you’d be interested in a toy boy?” I was slightly stunned, muttered “what the f#!&” and walked quickly away. Ducked through back alley and checked I wasn’t followed. I don’t think he was alone in the car.
