I’m travelling in Latin America now for 9 months. As a solo female traveller I attract alot of attention whether it be harmless because people are interested in why I am uncompanied or why I travel. This has lead to me to notice sexism much more. As without fail everyday for the last 9 months I have experienced hissing or whistling at me. Being told I am too ‘muy bonito’ (very beautiful) to travel alone. I always dress modestly, never wearing low cut tops and always wearing long pants unless I am at the beach. However, this has not stopped me from being touched on a bus, touched on a train or grabbed by the face in colombia and tried to kissed.
