I am a student in London who has just finished my first year at uni. I had often seen boys being pushy and coming onto girls in clubs and heard disgusting comments from boys about girls and what they feel entitled to do.
Towards the end of the year we went on a night out, I was extremely drunk and I was kissing a boy. However, the boy decided he wanted to take it further and started putting his hands under my clothes. I was telling him no and asking him to stop but it didn’t stop him pushing his hand firstly up my bra and then into my trousers. As I was drunk, it made it hard to push him away. I was able to side track him into giving me his snapchat (I never added it) so I was able to be in a position to easily get away once he had given me my phone back.
I was so upset and when I found my friends they were very supportive. I blamed myself for the situation because I had been drunk and decided to kiss him. Thankfully, my friends reassured me that it wasn’t my fault. It took me a while to realise but this was sexual assault however when I say that it makes me feel like I’m over reacting and I’m not entitled to say it. I would never report something like this because I don’t think it would be taken seriously and because I was drunk I think a lot of people would believe I’m to blame.
