I just can’t help but notice something that really annoys me. The fact that most words that describe a female role are in fact the male version with either a prefix or suffix added on. For example: feMALE, PRINCEss, woMAN…and so on. Also the fact that words which describe people mainly have a male root eg huMAN, MANkind, MANmade, the word MAN to describe all huMANs… And the most annoying thing of all: the word “woman” actually means “of man” ( “wo” meaning “of”) implying that women some how came from men and are the second gender! ?
