Me and my friend joined a cricket club when we were 12-13. We had little experience and were thrown in with the boys. This led to sexist comments about how we couldn’t do things as well as the boys and were placed in separate groups. One time the main coach said; “You girls are only here to date the boys”. As he was older, we didn’t speak up. It felt so alienating to be told that by an older man, when we just wanted to improve at a sport.
