I was in sports direct and picked a men’s shoe (which was all black) on the display stand and asked the male sales assistant for it in a size nine. He came back with a similar shoe but it had bits of pink on it. I didn’t mind this because I assumed he just made a mistake and brought the wrong shoe. I sat there for a minute because I didn’t like the shoe and they didn’t fit anyway. The man asked my mum if everything was ok and she said that I didn’t like the shoe because it was slightly different than the one I had asked for. He then said oh you wanted the men’s version? This annoyed me because I had asked for the men’s shoe but he had automatically assumed that I wanted a different one that I had never seen before because it was mens not women’s.
