I work in technical sales and am the only engineer on my team. The way customers treat me and talk to me is truly shocking. What is worse though is that I have been trying to get my team mates to back me up and they flat our deny that what I am experiencing has anything to do with my gender and then go on rants about how sexism doesn’t exist anymore and it’s all in my head. Somedays it makes me feel crazy, but that is the point of gasslighting. All I want is to be able to do the work that I love and to not have to navigate endless roadblocks laid down by insecure men.
