I was raped and almost killed at 22 years old in my childhood bed during winter break (from uni) by a man who was best friends with my friend. They assured me he was a good guy before we went back to my mothers house. Just minutes after we arrived I realised he was my worst nightmare. Later on the DA assigned to my case decided not to press charges, she is well known in Sweden for only wanting to get media attention as a DA fighting against gang criminality. That’s why she didn’t bring my case to court. I’m still working on appealing that decision. (the man in his statement to the police admits to not getting my consent and being overly violent). A year later now and I still have physical pain in my abdomen every day, and have been diagnosed with severe PTSD. A women in Sweden is lawless in the face of the very law system set out to “protect us”.
